Industrial Engineer
What You'll Own
- Develop and maintain Manufacturing Process Plans (MPPs) and Work Instructions for new and existing jobs, from entry-level assignments up through the most complex, high-risk programs on the floor (scope scales with your level).
- Build and own Quality Control Plans (QCPs), in-process inspection criteria, and First Article Inspection (FAI) packages in coordination with Quality.
- Select and specify tooling and fixturing for assigned operations; work directly with the floor on implementation and iterate based on real feedback and data.
- Coordinate job launches with Programming; ensure every process package is complete before first article runs.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement changes that move yield, cycle time, or cost in the right direction.
- Lead or support root cause and corrective action investigations for non-conformances with an engineering root cause, and contribute to DFM reviews and quoting for new business as you advance.
What We Build
Delva is an AS9100 Rev D certified CNC machine shop in Cinnaminson, NJ, producing precision aerospace and defense components to tolerances of ±0.0002". We work primarily in aluminum and a range of exotic alloys, including titanium, stainless steel, and tool steels. Our facility runs two shifts across Vertical Mills, Lathes, Swiss Lathes, and Mazak 5-axis horizontals with robotic loaders and automated pallet systems. This is not a generic job shop: the programs we run are high-stakes, the tolerances are real, and the documentation you create directly affects whether parts ship on time and to spec.
What You Bring
Must-have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on work experience for Level 1).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and technical specifications.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role for Level 2; 5+ years for Level 3.
- Comfort working across functions: you'll spend as much time on the floor and in conversations with Quality and Programming as you will at your desk.
- Attention to detail that shows up in the work, not just as a resume line.
- Familiarity with ITAR data handling requirements and basic document control practices.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in aerospace or defense CNC machining environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of MPP or process planning software, ERP systems, or structured work instruction platforms.
- Experience supporting AS9100 audits, source inspections, or first article reviews.
- Background in tooling selection, fixturing design, or DFM analysis.
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (a plus for Level 3 candidates).
