Position Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing and developing injection molding processes in a fast-paced, ISO-certified manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is critical to ensuring production efficiency, quality compliance, and minimal downtime through process improvements and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, technical expertise with injection molding equipment, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize injection molding processes for both new and existing products
- Set up, start up, and validate injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment
- Analyze and resolve process issues such as scrap reduction, cycle time optimization, and defect mitigation
- Collaborate with tooling engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing
- Maintain accurate and detailed process documentation and standard operating procedures
- Assist with mold trials, Design of Experiments (DOE), and capability studies
- Train operators and technicians on best practices for molding processes
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations
- Work independently to troubleshoot and improve process performance
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in injection molding process engineering
- Proficient with injection molding machines such as Arburg, Engel, Husky, Milacron, etc.
- Solid knowledge of thermoplastic materials, mold design, and processing parameters
- Familiarity with scientific molding principles and tools such as RJG or Decoupled Molding (preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficient in basic math and mechanically inclined
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
