Position Summary
Delva Tool (DTM) is seeking a CNC Machinist for our Cinnaminson, NJ location. The CNC Machinist is responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited to, lathes and mills. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm. Our work area is 100% climate controlled. The hiring range for this role is between $20.00 - $50.00 per hour, and applies to Machinist I, II, III, and Lead titles, with final compensation determined by level, experience, and qualifications*
What You’ll Do
- Operate CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and multi-axis machining centers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T specifications
- Perform machine setups, tooling adjustments, offset changes, and troubleshooting depending on experience level
- Produce precision machined components to customer and engineering specifications
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
- Monitor machine performance and identify machining or tooling issues
- Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts for inspection or additional operations
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve machining challenges and improve processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing efforts, and 5S activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Depending on experience level, mentor junior machinists and assist with workflow coordination and process optimization
Experience Levels
Machinist I
- 1–2 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience
- Performs machine operation and basic inspection activities under supervision
- Assists with setups and develops machining skills in a production environment
Machinist II
- 2–4 years of CNC machining experience
- Performs setups, tooling adjustments, inspections, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision
- Reads and interprets complex blueprints and GD&T specifications
- Assists in mentoring entry-level machinists
Machinist III / Lead
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Leads setups and operates complex CNC equipment including multi-axis machining centers
- Optimizes machining processes, validates programs, and supports first article inspections
- Serves as a technical resource and mentor for machinists and production teams
- Supports production planning, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives
