Position Summary
Delva Tool & Machine (DTM) is seeking a Director of Quality for our Cinnaminson, NJ location. The Director of Quality will establish, enhance, and maintain a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction that positively impacts the financial performance of the business. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm. The hiring range for this position is between $135,000 - $150,000 per year depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and initiatives
- Lead the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
- Supervise and support quality control staff in daily operations
- Serve as the quality assurance representative in product design and development projects
- Create and maintain procedures for process control, testing, inspection, and improvement
- Establish and track key quality metrics to monitor and improve performance
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for quality issues
- Collect and analyze statistical data to identify trends and support continuous improvement
- Review customer specifications to ensure manufacturability and quality compliance
- Develop and implement quality plans and process documentation for new and existing products
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance; maintain supplier rating system
- Ensure customer requirements are incorporated into quality and process plans
- Collaborate with customers to identify quality improvement opportunities
- Oversee equipment calibration and product testing programs
- Report quality trends and issues to senior management
- Define and enforce supplier quality standards
- Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Work with suppliers and customers to resolve quality problems and implement solutions
- Promote a data-driven culture focused on continuous improvement
- Standardize work processes and eliminate sources of poor quality
- Enhance organizational capabilities to support quality-first project execution
- Train, coach, and mentor teams on quality tools and process improvement techniques
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or something similar is preferred.
- 7+ years of related experience and/or training is required.
- At least five years of experience in manufacturing of similar products.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, AS, and ISO certifications.
- Familiarity with general inspection equipment such as mics, calipers, gages, comparators, or vision systems.
- Aerospace and defense industry experience is a plus.
